John Garcia worked with the Buffalo Police Department for over 25 years. John retired as a detective with the Homicide Squad as the Commander of the Crisis Management Team where he supervised a group of highly trained hostage negotiators and the BPD dignitary protection team. John also worked many years as a detective in the Buffalo Police Department Narcotics/Vice Squad and in the Gang Suppression Unit. John is a graduate of SUNY College at Buffalo and is a native Spanish speaker. John is also a former board member of the Erie County Mental Health Association, Vice President of the NY Association of Hostage Negotiators, and a member of the WNY Law Enforcement Helpline.
